We had a great road trip today. We drove through Granbury to Dublin, Texas. Dublin should be renamed Dr. Pepper, Texas. Dr. Pepper is all you see, signs and art work on the sides of buildings. The kids had a great time. We purchased too much Dr. Pepper stuff! After the tour, we had a Frostie Pepper. Dr. Pepper syrup mixed with Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla ice cream. Amazing! Then we drove from Stephenville to Granbury on Hwy 67. It is so beautiful! I wanted to stop and stare! I could just imagine this land 200 years ago, without roads or signs or power lines. Nothing but wild land, it was so inspiring. Then we continued on Hwy 67 to Cleburne, and visited the Cleburne State Park. Nice park, but we only had a little time, and the kids wanted to see the playground. I want to visit and photograph all of the Texas State Parks, and as soon as I have photos I will add them.

I use to never be asked “Are you reading anything.”, it was always “What are you reading?”. I traded Leonard for Dr. Seuss, and while I love Theodore’s writing, I miss reading for myself. Now the kids are older, we are going to start reading together. We bought “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” to read on a camping trip, but each night we were just too exhausted. Also our camp site was overrun with wild animals as soon as the sun went down, and Cole was much more interested in seeing animals. So this week we are going to start reading each night (we have to once school starts anyway).
When you are young, and you like to write, you have a millions things to say. Some of them make save the world and some are just about clothes, but you have them. Then you wake up one day and you are older, much older. You have beautiful children that depend on you for everything, which you love but leaves you exhausted. And what you have to say isn’t as much anymore. And trying to say it takes time. No one is ever thirsty until I sit down at the computer. But I have things I want to say…...
So I am starting to write.
