How I did it: I paid the monthly payments for a while, but then I found that I could take classes at a local community college and push back the payments until 2011 (so long as I kept taking classes).I did this and saved chunks of money until I had enough to pay it off all at once (which is much more satisfying, in my opinion, than doing it piecemeal).
