All, well the weather has been cooperating up to this week and I have been following the Runner’s World Marathon training for beginners. I actually PR’d last week when I ran a half marathon. Next week on 1/29, I will run the Miami Marathon and am feeling very relaxed and ready for the race.

How I did it: I trained over the period of one month with increasing mileage and speed. I focused on running the hills in the Timonium area, especially in Springlake and Pot Spring roads. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I followed the directions of the Home Depot 123 book on tiling. I actually had to knock the one wall out, reinstall drywall, tile and grout. Then finally caulk, which I had never done before. Caulking was easy, you just need to be patient. Now that that shower is done I can focus on remodeling the guest bathroom. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I joined the local Chamber of Commerce that had a vacancy in a few board positions. One of the requirements is to provide articles of interest for the newsletter. Is the newsletter a national publication? NO, but it does have people who read it and let you know of their opinions. I find it fun to share ideas and hear other opinions as well. Read how I did it…

Ok, tonight I ran a 6 mile run after work. Last night it was 3 miles. I was a bit stiff last night, but looking at the stats I can understand why since the Hurricane and Earthquake caused me to skip a week. I’m running strong and my legs are craving each run now, so I think I’m well on my way. The race calls for a 14 min/mi pace and currently I’m running a 13 min/mi pace with signs of running as fast as a sub 10 min/mi pace. So, I’m picking up speed and endurance. This weekend its a 10K and maybe a 20 miler, but I’ll see how I feel after the 10K. I don’t want to push it too much.
Ok, well this fall I am going to a friend’s wedding and will be able to check off MA, NH, and ME in the trip. Should be fun as I discover Boston, Portsmouth and a few other towns.
