How did I accomplish this? Three ways, so far:

1. While living in Michigan, I decided to drive across the country and make this notorious city a stop on my journeys.
2. While living in San Francisco, I convinced my then-girlfriend to drive up there for Thanksgiving.
3. While living in San Francisco and broken up with then-girlfriend, I started dating a woman who lives there. Now I go to Portland at least once a month.

Any of these methods will get you there, folks.
