I have been brought up as a vegetarian (not even eating fish) by my parents and now at 28 I want to eat meat. My reasons are my husband and 2 children all eat meat and I find it hard cooking different meals for everyone and also finding a decent restaurant where we can all eat. I always feel tired and never have much energy so I want to try eating meat. I know it will be hard and I wont be able to do it over night but I want to give this a go. I have tried it previously but the texture of meat is so different to anything vegi, even soya meat substitutes are veryy different. This will be the hardest part just getting used to the texture. I have put on a lot of weight recently mainly because I eat a lot of cheese as I find it hard to think of anything else to eat sometimes, eg in sandwiches. So I am going to give it a go with both fish and meat. Wish me luck.

I want to start eating meat

I know it is no excuse as plenty of people have children and put on weight but I have put on 58lb over 4 1/2 years. I used to be really confident and love wearing nice clothes but now everything looks awful. It is not just having the children it is the whole lifestyle I just dont get much exercise anymore. My goal is to get fit and lose weight, I would like to fit into a pair of trousers I have kept from the last time I was happy with my weight. Goal 6 months from today 24 September 2006.
