Well, it’s almost one week down and it’s been pretty easy to avoid drinking so far. I worked all weekend, so that may have helped. I’m pretty accustomed to having a glass of wine when I get off work, but have avoided that.
I decided to give up drinking for Lent for a few reasons. Firstly, too many lines on my financial statement were taken up by the name of my local bar. Secondly, I wanted to give my liver a break. Thirdly, I probably haven’t stopped drinking for this long consecutively since I started, so I want to see if I can do it.
Hopefully the next few weeks go as well as the first! Good luck to everyone else on this!

I’ve been flying since I was a baby, and was fine up until my early 20s. I don’t know why it hit me then, but for some reason I’ve gotten tense during the weeks building up to a flight. For someone who has successfully flown to places as far as Japan and Greece, it sucks to be dealing with this now. Since developing my fear, I’ve flown several times, but I want to get over the severe case of nerves I feel before and during so that I can learn to enjoy flying again.

House-seeing
I went to my first viewing a couple weeks ago and just looooooved the house. Found it online and couldn’t resist looking, even though it was a bit out of my target range. Still adored it when I saw it, but decided to keep a level head and not rush into anything. In the meantime, I’ve found out about a big tax credit to buy a house in Roanoke City, and the $7500 federal one that passed and you no longer have to pay back. Sweeeeeeeet.
I’m now looking at a more budget-friendly home that is absolutely darling and just dropped by $10,000 today! Getting started on this whole thing is very fun.
