i think alot of the attitude and behavior issues occur when my kid doesn’t feel like she’s getting enough attention…not always but i’m willing to own my part. lately i’ve been trying to spend quality time with her and to check in midday and to take her rudeness less personally. i’ve noticed when i react less she’s more inclined to self-correct. she’ll be 13 in a couple of months and is only child. need i say more?

i just got an AeroGarden, planted several herbs today. it looks great in the deep dark corner that resulted in the remodel. i’m starting out with an herb garden.
strawberries, tomatoes, lettuces are also available.
working in a fast paced acute rehab facility. i love this opportunity, totally motivated to learn what i need to know but i find myself OVERWHELMED and more than a bit scattered. i’m a hands-on learner which is good but seriously the pace is fast and right now i’m just focusing on not harming anyone. spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, people on ventilators all quite new to me as i’ve spent the last several years in sub-acute settings. i fully embrace this change of pace and am so HAPPY but i’m struggling to know what to focus on. my boss has given me lots of time to familiarize myself with the unit and it’s resources but i guess what it boils down to is after 10 years as a certified occupational therapy assistant i feel so GREEN! i want to be more confident when speaking with doctors and other medical staff.
