So I was out-of-pocket for awhile but I have picked this goal back up. I’m going to try a slow and steady approach this time and see if I can do any better.

Deuteronomy 13-18

13.
a. God wants you to fear him, keep his commandments, and obey his voice.
b. If anyone tells you different, even someone from your own family, you should kill them.
c. Also, if you find cities of these types of people you should burn the cities to the ground.

14.
a. People should not eat camels, rabbits, and/or pigs.
b. You can eat all fish unless they don’t have fins and/or scales… then you cannot eat them.
c. You can eat some birds but there are a good many you cannot eat like eagles, vultures, and osprey.

15.
a. People should help the poor and the needy.
b. Slaves that are Hebrew should be set free after six years.
c. Lame or blind animals should not be sacrificed to God but eaten instead.

16.
a. No one should eat leavened bread for seven days in the month of Abib.
b. Judges should judge people with just judgment.
c. People should not set up an image that the Lord hates.

17.
a. More instructions to kill people that don’t believe in God, this time saying that there needs to be two or three witnesses. You cannot do it if there is only one or no witnesses.
b. Not following through on the judgment of a judge is punishable by death.
c. Even the king of the land should follow God’s commandments.

18.
a. One should not consult with witches, wizards, and/or enchanters.
b. God promises a prophet to speak in his name.
c. He indicates you will know when the prophet has not been speaking for God when the things this prophets say turn out not to come to pass or be untrue.

Woah, not making this stuff up folks. Not a lot of tolerance baked into this section of chapters.
