This summer was a very difficult and disappointing one in many ways.

it just takes some effort and sacrifice, like any good thing. My roommate and I got all of our furniture second-hand, and we only shop at farmer’s markets or local grocers for food. Carpooling or bike-riding whenever possible, so you use less gas, is an obvious but pretty significant step. I’ve drastically cut down on my consumption since graduating. It requires more time to walk or ride your bike places, but that’s just part and parcel of a more relaxed, enjoyable life, and I think most of us can benefit from making such changes.
