This year I’m actually almost done shopping with a whole week to spare! Usually, I’m one of those guys running around at closing time on Christmas Eve, frustratingly digging through the picked-over last-minute sales and getting weary looks from the sales staff because I’m keeping them from going home to be with their families.

I’d like to be like my wife, who starts shopping in October (online) and only has to worry about wrapping gift in the weeks before Christmas.

I smoked for 13 years and one random Sunday evening in the dead of winter I ran out of cigarettes. At that moment I decided to never smoke again.

Sure – this was the ninth time I had decided that, but for some reason this one stuck…

My doctor has thrown muscle relaxers and beta blockers and anti-depressants at my headaches and so far nothing has done the trick. I still get a headache every day and I still take two excedrin to bring them under control. A couple times a week though, I’ll have a day like this.
Then there’s nothing to do but pray for sleep.
