Pan en Paris
Paris. Just the word evokes a sense of romance and elegance. It makes me think of walking down Victor Hugo toward l’Arc de Triomphe and realizing how many amazing things in this world that there are to see.
France is an amazing country, but Paris…Paris is one of those cities where, immediately upon setting foot on the soil, you wish you spoke the language and want to socially liquify to fit perfectly into the atmosphere. It is also one of those cities where you realize that it would be all the more amazing if you have someone to share it with.
My dear bird has never been to Paris and I am itching to take him. I can just imagine cracking a fresh baguette at a sidewalk cafe and drinking coffee over it while people watching. The sun would rise above the leaves overhead and cast a magical glow on the scene.
There is a problem with Paris though…once you’re there, you never, EVER want to leave.

I LOVE Krav Maga. It is my favorite new activity. It allows me to get wiped out while doing something that is actually functional and earn a skill set that is completely beneficial.
I love it so much, in fact, I brought one of my clients to the facility where I have been going and that is now our “Friday Night Session”.
So, why the draw to Krav Maga?
It’s the sense of accomplishment that will come with getting the belt. I mean, sure, I’ll be a lethal weapon and may need to register my hands and legs with the government, but still, it’s the belt: that 3’ piece of black canvas that I could easily buy from an online dealer. It’s that feeling of having sweat, cuts, soreness, victory, defeat, angst and frustration wrapped around your waist. It’s one of those rare instances in which success is actually tangible.
I have a LONG way to go, but I won’t be stopped…if you try, I’ll come back and front kick you to the groin.

So I challenged myself to this…and then forgot about it. And the 20th…yep, that’s tomorrow! So, I am going to have a blast reading this book today! I’m pretty excited, actually. I think the last time I read it was in 7th or 8th grade, so I am really excited to see how much my perception of things has changed.
