I went in to get my helix pierced today. I was sooo excited. I used to have my right one pierced back in high school, but I kept ripping it out (by accident, of course). Anyway, the guy was going over all the info about cleaning it, and I asked what I should do while I’m driving home next week, and then on my way back out here at New Year’s? (55 hours each way…) And he told me to just wait until I get back. Sadness. 3 more weeks!

How I did it: I took the 2.5-day training course from the Calgary Safety Council. I wasn't aware but once I did some research, there are training programs all over the place. It was way easier than I imagine having a friend teach you. They taught all the good habits and their test was tougher to pass than the actual licensing test. Read how I did it…
I think I might be one step closer to this goal! On Monday, I’ll be delivering my university transcripts from home and my application to the University of Calgary… to start in January! I’ll be super excited if I can make everything work in January… I also want to get my EMR certification in January, so I can work on the oilfields as a medic AND go to school at the same time. :)
Since I can’t donate blood until next July, I think I might as well go ahead and pierce the top of my ear again like I wanted to. You have to wait 6 months after getting a piercing to donate blood, and I have to wait that much time anyway. So, might as well. :)
