Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Turns out, sewing isn’t as hard as it looks.

find out what my blood type is
I know a good way...

I think the very best way to do this is to donate blood… At least in Australia that’s true. Make an appointment with a blood bank now! Do it NOW!!!!

Done a Tour!

I have done a chocolate tour of Melbourne, Australia. It was amazing! We went to 4 places that specialised in Chocolate, we missed one because we were with a school group and were running late.

We started out at Haigh’s in the Royal Arcade, where we tasted dark, and milk chocolate, we tried some of thier best known chocolates- speckles, berry thingys, coated macadamia’s (I think) and because it was my birthday the tour lady gave me a truffle like thingy. My personal fave was the berry things because they were chocolate and fruity and just plain fantastic!

We went to Deva next, Where they practise Cocoa L’art. It’s where they paint on the chocolates. Deva is a new gift for the senses shop located in the Galleria. They don’t just have chocolate, they have perfume, fun gifts, and other stuff as well.

We went to Koko Black next where the manager came out and talked to us abotu the hot chocolate -made with real chocolate, that they sell. This one was quite interesting because you can see the kitchen through the window and watch the Chocolatier make the chocolates.

To finish up we went to Laurent Boulangerie Patisserie where we had a drink- Water, tea or coffee and a cake. I had a trio which was much lighter than it looks.

If I were to recomend anything to any one about to do one of these tours it would be to take a bottle of water with you. Because after a while all you end up tasting is chocolate, and you miss how creamy this one is, or the bitterness of the cocoa and the cream of the ganache.

It was amazing!

not so hard...

Yeah, right! But I’ve discovered that exercising really isn’t that hard, or scary. I mean it gets boring after a while, but I can vary it and.. It’s.. fun? I actually find that It really does make me feel good. I don’t think I’ve lost much weight, if any. But I feel good!

I am too shy, too go out and exercise so I run on the spot- for no less than 20 mins. Maybe I dance for a bit, nothing scary just put on some music and dance around the room, like a silly. But, man it’s actually fun!

Send a postcard to Postsecret
Australia

Apparently you can’t send them from other countries, and I’m from Australia.

be courageous as often as possible (read all 2 entries…)
yes!

I say I’ve done it, or more accuratly doing it. Sometimes it’s just not possible to be courageous. We need to accept that we aren’t courageous all the time, and move on.

Courage isn’t acting without fear, it’s acting in spite of it.

Finally!

Well, I’ve done it. How long it’ll be before I change my mind I don’t know, but at least I know for know, and that’s something.

I want to be..ME! I thought about this goal a lot, It says for the rest of my life. Not what the hell my career is gonna be.

Visit London for the Olympics in 2012
Have a big family.

give my hair some treatments (read all 2 entries…)
Slimy gooey magic

I did it. It was cold and slimey, but I had a made it myself and amazingly enough, It Worked. It didn’t just work. It was magic.

Try it for yourself and let me know how it works for you.

1tbs almond oil
1/4 cup honey
1/4 hair conditioner

Mix it together and pour it over your hair. I found it easier if I stood in the shower to do it ‘cos when you don’t it makes a sticky mess.
Leave it on your hair for 1/2 and hour. Put on a shower cap, to prevent it going everywhere.
Wash the mixture out of your hair. wash your hair as normal.(I found it works better if you use the same conditioner to wash your hair as is in the mix.
