Learning From Experience
I’ve been an inconsistent person for the better half of my twenties. Developing a routine and good habits have proven to be very effective in achieving results because I find that things that used to seem like huge challenges become more manageable because I have made a habit of it.
My first habit was to simply go for a 20 minute walk once a day. Something as simple as that can snowball into bigger and greater achievements down the line.
I tried and “failed” at keeping the walking habit when I was living in San Francisco/Berkeley. What proved to be the difference this time, I think was experience from that “failed” attempt and also a very useful web application that helped to track my goals: http://www.dontbreakthechain.com.
