stop being negative
Don't be so negative...or you have to do burpees.

Everytime that I say something negative, I will immediately do 15 burpees. I’ll get stronger one way or the other.

work for myself
How did I Start working for myself?

I’ve wanted to be an independent consultant for about 10 years. I got fired from my job, took a few days off and then signed up for elance.com. I haven’t looked back. It’s tough, but worth it.

stop smoking
3 Days Smoke Free

It has been 60 hours since my last cigarette. I’ve been drinking a lot of green tea and eating a bunch of 85% dark chocolate. These are supposed to affect the same locations in the brain as nicotine.

So far so good.

run 10k
On my way to 10k

About 6 weeks ago, I quit smoking. Since then, I have run a 5k and a 5 mile (8k) race. I hope to run an 8 mile (12.87km) race in February.

Get a tattoo
Soon and very soon

I have wanted to get a tattoo for quite a few years now, but have deferred to my wife who said ‘no’. This year, for Christmas, she gave me permission. Now to decide what it will portray.

Take a trip to WI Dells, (Noah's Ark and all!)
Untitled

My wife planned a trip to Wisconsin Dells for our 9 year anniversary. We went to Noah’s Ark, got some cheese, stayed in a kitsch motel.

Wonderful time away from real life.

Develop a Vision Statement & Goal Plan for my Life
Without Vision People Perish

About a month ago, I started reading this book (Developing a Vision for Ministry in the 21st Century) for a class I’m taking. I was blown away.

I started thinking about where my life is at and how little plan I have for it—that I needed to take control of my life. I started listing all the different roles that I play and what goals I had for each:
  • Personal
  • Marriage
  • Work
  • Ministry

I couldn’t find any real goals for any of them!

So now I’m working to figure out what God’s got planned for me and start moving towards that.

plant more flowers in my yard
More color

Last year, I grew a bunch of flowers from seed. One of the flowers I grew were ‘Forget-me-not’s. They didn’t flower last year, but were beautiful this year.
My wife made the comment that she was really glad that I planted them. So I went out and got some more flowers for our flower garden and put ‘em in.
I’m hoping for a small little getaway right in my own yard where we can sit and listen to the birds and read.
