That’s what my Dad used to tell me. How I did this: I put myself on an honest to goodness budget. Now, quite frankly this was a “Come to Jesus meeting” with myself..

I had to see how much $ was honestly coming in and going out. So, after my meeting with myself, I determined how much $ I could put into my 401K and then how much I could direct deposit into a savings account each paycheck. I found a local credit union that is close to work but NOT close to home, and opened a savings account, have xx$ put into it from each paycheck, and honestly, I dont miss the $ because I don’t see it.

If I had to rely on myself to deposit into savings, it would not get done…. Lets face it, I can not be trusted! “I’d rather shop & love this moment than save” has been my attitude for too long, so i grew up and got with the program.
Thank GOD my husband (who has alot more money than I do, although I am a better dresser! just kidding) is rubbing off on me with his conservative (money and eco) spending ways!! Yeahh!!! Thanks Babe!

I did this one, i had my mom over… I plan on continuing to do it at LEAST once a month. It is a great way to stay connected, and i love cooking, so I can do something nice for my family from a loving place.
