After recieving hugs from Gerard, Frank, Bob and Worm (if you don’t know who he is then you really need to find out) I can tell you that Bob’s hugs are the best. They’re all really great guys and give hugs if you ask…or they just decide they like you.

I’ve managed to get backstage passes to a number of concerts for a number of reasons. Some have been won, some have been because I’m mates with the band, some because I know security, and some just because I had the guts to blag.

One of the first things you should know about backstage is that it’s not always what it’s cracked up to be. Sometimes (on a bad backstage night) the band are too busy, the crew are always running around, and press and photographers are pretty rude to people they don’t know/like/work for. But sometimes (good night) you get fed, chatted to, treated wonderfully and get the chance to meet and hang out with some really cool people.

Another important thing is, if you have managed to blag backstage, make sure you look like you belong or security will spot you and throw you out.

They’re all super cool guys. I’ve met them quite a few times (about 5 I think). I managed to actually have a proper conversation with some of them a couple of times too. They’re really chatty if you can catch them when they’re not busy or swamped by teenies or searching for coffee.
