This weekend my husband has invited about 25 people over to our 1800 sq ft home and I am to feed, entertain, and host them so that it looks good on his portfolio for tenure. I am nervous as I am only 24 and this will be my first time hosting a party, but I also know that everything will turn out fine in the end. At this party there are several people who I have dismissed and not talked to because I didn’t feel like they were my type of person and I am going to try to specifically seek them out and talk to them. I think this will be a great big move in the right direction. These people are all into money and that’s all they seem to talk about- you know those fake kinds of people. I am going to try to be kind to them and find the value they have to add to my life. I plan on using the same techniques in speaking to these people as I do to my students, talking to them to find a common interest and making an interest in them. I hope this works. I’m crossing my fingers.
