You’ll never regret learning to play electric guitar. Buy a nice little practice amp. Buy a guitar that feels, sounds and looks good. Buy the best you can afford. Get some lessons. Be brave! Start playing with other people very early on. Don’t be too judgemental. Explore. Write songs straight away. Record them. Enjoy playing simple things. Avoid playing with nit picky hyper critical people. Develop your own style. Play what you like.

I’ve been playing guitar since my teens (awhile ago….) and I’ve never really properly learnt how to fingerpick properly. Have a listen to Blackbird by the Beatles if you don’t know what fingerpicking is.
