Well I think I am pretty good at doing fish, pork, and chicken (although I haven’t cooked a whole chicken yet – just breasts and tenders.) I can do hamburgers really well but my attempts at broiling steaks have been ok to not that great. I can do mashed potatoes (ok they are instant) and yams and I think once I did baked potatoes. Stuffing – both the holiday kind and Stove Top, rice and cous cous. Veggies – canned corn and corn on the cob, beans, brussies, carrots, frozen peas, cauliflower, but my broccoli is only sometimes good and sometimes mushy and I can never ever get asparaus right. So I am getting there but still have a ways to go.
There are now only two Google pages listed for my new married name and (with the exception of one page that not my first name nor either parts of my hyphenated last near appear on)they are all me!!!!!
Just joined a meet-up group for actors and am going to look for one or two more others that look like fun. I also did an entire week of free paraliminal sessions online. So I think this counts as enough to satisfy this goal. I am posting this and then marking it as done but I will continue to take any free sessions that I might find interesting or beneficial.

Been writing mostly poetry but also some flash fiction that I was going to submit to a literary journal until I realized that I missed the deadline, and some stuff for my writing classes. I also formed an artists group and have gotten involved with poetry readings.
I got over a major block tonight and it has left me totally stoked! And I’ve just put onto my plate some more creative projects! Striking while the iron’s hot…
1. I have spoken to my job about being a blog contributor if they start one.
2. I have two flash fictions that I want to submit to journals. One is finished. One needs a rewrite of the ending.
3. I have a personal essay that I’d like to submit to a magazine.
4. I have an article idea that I’d like to submit to a magazine.
5. Still searching for an open mic night for my poetry.
So I’ve given my contact info to 5 places. Hopefully I’ll get a call from one of them. Especially the last one. Although with this economy I think that even jobs like that are getting snapped up by people who ordinarily wouldn’t do it.
Just paid two of them off and paid about $300 on the third one. Although one of them has about $100 worth of pending charges so I couldn’t pay that portion off yet. Have to wait until it hits the card.
1. Flash fiction – submit the one I wrote and/or write a new one and submit them
2. Pitch front of book/article idea to a magazine
3. Offer corporate writing services to a local business
4. Read some of my poetry at an open mic
5. Look for more art school modeling opportunities
We had our first meeting tonight. Told a bit about ourselves, showed some of our previous work, stated our goals to accomplish before next meeting which is one month from now. I am so happy!
We are meeting in a Berkeley coffee shop tomorrow night. I posted a second ad on craiglist and have so far gotten one response. I think I might have a small showing tomorrow or it might only be me but I do not care. If no one else shows I’ll use the time to write.
I did the last one yesterday. One could do with a a bit of tweaking – the top drawer of my nightstand which ends up becoming a junk draw, but basically I am considering this task done.
I’ve given it a couple of days and no more responses so I just have the 4 people who responded plus me which is the perfect size! I’ve sent them all an email about possible times for our first meeting and am waiting to hear back. And I’ve also picked our name, created our agenda for the first meeting, and started a contact sheet. Ooh! I am so excited!
I went to a poetry workshop last night at the library. Got a start on a nice little poem which I might continue working on.
So far I have 4 people interested in my group other than me. I’ll give it a few more days for others to reply and then start sorting out a date/time when we can all meet.
a few months ago I met the woman who runs my local drum circle and who sends out the yahoo groups notices – but I met her totally on a different matter. could it be fate? I think so. I think I need to go to one of them.
Just posted an ad on craigslist for an artists group that I am forming. Hoping to get a small group of like-minded creative types together to support and motivate one another, show each other our work, and get some constructive feedback. Thinking up names for my group right now. That is the most fun part, after all!
I didn’t really get to meet him a second time. However I have facebooked a few tributes to him and sent a note to remeberingsteve. I am going to believe that he hears and knows that both I and the whole world thought he was awesome.
You were a great man, Steve. I count myself lucky to have met you once.
