I know enough Excel for my current spreadsheet needs, and anything I need I can usually look up online. So there’s no real defined end for this goal, thus, Goal Completed!

I know. I’ve tried taking French before, but every time something comes up and I switch out of the class or drop the class. This time, I’m taking the course with a friend, so hopefully that’ll be a little more motivation!
Some Winter cleaning, if you will…
-Sort through box of paper and misc. items. Throw away unnecessary. Put rest in proper places.
-Organize drawer system next to desk.
-Organize drawers under bed.
-Organize closet to make outfit-planning more efficient and less time-consuming
Bring caddy/organizer for bathroom stuff
Bring power strip, USB hub, mouse/mouse connector thing
Unload box of stuff
Finish hanging up clothing in laundry caddy and on chair
Put all dirty laundry in laundry caddy
Hang up jewelry
Organize containers under bed
French, Russian, English seminar on Human Rights Lit, Intro to Acting.
Plus an assignment to finish for summer.
Also, need to talk with counselor about class scheduling.
Had the carpets steam-cleaned Friday, including the staircase, which would have been a huge pain to do without professional assistance. Bathrooms and kitchen getting a cleaning on Monday, courtesy of the housekeepers that take care of the shared spaces in the apartment building.
But that’s cleaning. Organization front is still going slowly. Life’s getting busy again, but I’m going to try to get some organizing done tonight. It’s much easier and more pleasant to work when the surroundings are clean and organized and pretty.
Well, two basics. How to do sums, and how to multiply things. That’s really all I need at the moment (to fill out invoices). To actually track market data… We’ll figure that out later.
Writers and deadlines… Not letting myself sleep tonight without submitting both pieces. So I need to get on that now if I plan to not be braindead for classes tomorrow.
Finished everything on that first To Do list except set up printer/monitor/keyboard.
Next to do:
—Set up printer/monitor/keyboard
—Clear out Big Giant Cardboard Box of Stuff
—Clear off bed
—Throw out unusable packaging materials
—Clear out two small trashcans (which are filled with non-trash items at the moment)
Partially because I have too much stuff as usual, but mostly because I am lazy and have been spending my time socializing, eating, and sleeping instead of organizing.
To Do
—Make my bed. As in actually put the sheets and covers on because I have been sleeping on a bare mattress and fleece blanket for the past two nights.
—Hang my clothing that needs to be hung. The clothing that is currently sitting on my computer chair, making it impossible for me to sit there.
—Set up monitor, keyboard, printer
—Organize bathroom stuff (currently spread out in a lovely design all over the sink area)
—Organize desk stuff into handy dandy containers bought for that purpose
That’s pretty much it. Doesn’t sound like much, but again, it’s the last few days of summer and I’m busy with work and I haven’t seen people in so long and I’m tiiired. Whine Whine Whine.
So my minigoal was to hit 161 by September 25. I’m currently between 160 and 161, so I consider it minigoal reached! And ahead of time to boot :)
My next goal is to see 158 by October 15. I’m back at school, with the lovely gym, and I’m scoping out yoga places nearby. And healthy eating, vitamins, drinking water—the works.
Which was a pretty good movie, if you like Woody Allen movies. It was sexy and smart in that sort of self-conscious way, like all Woody Allen films. It reminded me of Spain though (obviously). Wish I had more time to spend on this goal!
Enrolled in another French class this fall. Plan to finish at least two years of French. I also have so many podcasts on my iTunes. Should fill my Shuffle with French podcasts next time I hit the gym. Except then I’ll probably be at the gym for a total of 15 minutes before I die of boredom.
One of my aunts is a financial consultant, and she promised to teach me the basics. I really just need to get the basics (formulas, charts, graphs, etc). I always say I know Microsoft Office, for interviews, but I know my limited Excel knowledge is going to bite me in the butt one day if I don’t fix it!
I haven’t been to the gym in about two weeks now. Life has been hectic, and I was a little under the weather last week. (Crisis averted now though.)
Still, I’ve been eating fairly healthily, and I’ve gone down a pound or so, so now I’m between 162 and 163. Am I going to make my goal of 161 by September 25 (ie in one week)? Probably not. But maybe. And if nothing else, I’ll be close!
Giving myself leeway not to gym until after (a) I finish my 15 page paper due tomorrow and (b) I finish unpacking everything in my apartment. So, most likely this weekend will be the first gym time.
At both jobs I interviewed for, of course pending me turning in the necessary forms and sending in my billing info. I’m not going to make much, but it’s work experience and the first step =)
The new format confuses me.
How do I give up on goals?
How do I edit goals?
OK those are really the only two questions I have. But still, it’s frustrating when things don’t work as I remember them working and I have to click around looking for a solution or FAQ answer that isn’t there.
But few things turn out to be, anyway.
I have written presentable things, and I’ve been published, but still not in fiction, which was my original intent. This is why I need clearer goals for visualization. Haha.
I am proud of myself for the journalistic writing though, and the marketing/PR writing. I didn’t know I had it in me, and I’m doing well. So the goal is completed, but not in the way I originally intended.
So because mini-goals work well for me, here are my mini-goals for this big overarching goal.
1. Gym at least one hour this weekend.
2. Gym 5 days next week.
3. Gym 5 days week after that.
My ideal result would be to weight under 161 or under by September 25, the day classes start.
I would put “eat better” but I’m already doing that. The exercise though, I need to push!
