I have two degrees in Computer Science (BS and MS). I don’t regret a day that I spent in school earning them either. They have opened so many door for me.

I am going to be honest. I refuse to diet. I also refuse to allow society to tell me how I am supposed to look. I am an African-American woman, age 25 and I refuse to become a blonde bombshell so to speak. However, I do like moving. So I plan to incorporate more movement into my lifestyle. I really don’t know what my ideal weight is. I believe that it is somewhere between 120-130lbs (even though a doctor that I refuse to see now says that it is 110lbs). I personally know that I’d be emaciated at 110lbs.
I am pretty muscular and my masseur always comments on my muscles when I go for my massages. Muscle weighs more than fat so I think that 125lbs is reasonable. I am 5’1” tall and 150lbs currently. In the morning I have begun doing anaerobic exercises, but I need to incorporate aerobic activity in my life. My goal is to reach 120-125 lbs by August 1, 2008.
So I quit my good government job and took a pay cut to become an Applications Engineer for a small company based in Scotland. I have worked there since 23 April 2008. The pay is less (but it covers my bills) and the job is demanding at times (a lot of new stuff to learn), but I so far I love it. Its a great opportunity, because I am meeting people from across the globe who are brilliant. I also like the fact that they didn’t just throw me into a cubical and expect me to stay out everyone’s way while I go through Computer Based Training Modules. I actually get to do stuff and though sometimes I don’t understand it, at the end of the day I understand it a little better. Training is completely hands-on and and lasts for three months. By then I may be a whiz. I am already able to utilize a lot of the skills that I learned in school in ways that I didn’t realize they applied.
