FINALLY finished Geography of Bliss a couple weeks ago! Man I am a slow reader! I think I just have issues with allowing myself to sit down and read. I guess I feel it’s lazy in a way….but I need to get over that stupidity. Anyway- would definitely recommend the book to others who have a wandering spirit like myself and want to live vicariosly through someone who is traveling around the globe looking for answers to why some people are happier than others.
Next on the list is “Lone Survivor” – about a guy’s experience on a Navy Seal team in Afghanistan. Got a whopping 6 pages down last night before I fell asleep :) It wasn’t the book that put me out – just my book-induced narcolepsy setting in as usual :)

So I’ve been working on landscaping and gardening all summer pretty much – but I finally pulled myself away for the time being and am still trying to figure out what my next goal is. Tiling or finish painting? I have less than a month until I start school and things get too crazy for projects…so I need to decide which it’ll be by the end of the week and get going on it. My neighbor has graciously offered his wet saw and whatever else I need for tiling (plus his teaching services) but it’ll still be more expensive than painting and take longer to do…..
Visited Francis Marion College today with my daughter. It was our first campus tour and glad we started here cause it seems it can only get better from here. It was a pretty dated school with kinda nasty dorms – although they did have some brand new ones that were beautiful, she’d not be able to get into them until junior year probably. It was a really small school – and there’s something to be said for that, but I just felt like her opportunities at this school would really be limited. She really wants to go to USC anyway, but I didn’t want her limit her options to just one school like that. Anyway – USC visit is on Thursday…looking forward to seeing the difference.
