visit Cuba
Visited Santiago de Cuba in 2003 3 years ago

Legally visited Santiago Cuba in 2003 with my husband and his Mother to visit famiy. The Cuban people are beautiful, hard working, lovely people. The live with many obstacles daily…without so many things we Americans take for granted.

Discovering my husband’s Grandfather, Rodolfo Hernandez Giro was a famous Cuban Sculptor was inspiring. Many momuments and statues throughout Cuba (Plaza de Marta, etc) have been done by him. His work and the work of my husband’s uncle Juan Emilio Hernandez Giro is on display at the Barcardi Museum in Santiago.

The photo found at the family home in Santiago shows my husband’s Grandfather, Rodolfo, actually Sculpting.

I wish I could have met him, as Abuelo Rodolfo must have been quite a wonderful Man!

bungee jump
Bungee Jumped inspite of Fear of Heights 3 years ago

Several years ago, my 2 daughters and I were in Destin with my husband and the girls talked Mom (that’s me) into bungee jumping. I really was panicking climbing that tower. It was worse when I was on top! Both daughters jumped and the guy told me I could go back down the stairs. I explained that this trembling lady was a former “Marine” and I could never live this down with my 2 girls had I not jumped. I did the sign of the cross and jumped off the tower. I felt my heart up in my throat! The falling sensation almost gave me a heartattack. But I did it. God help me if the grand kids try to talk me into it again!

own a motorcycle
Lady Rider and Her Purple Harley-Davidson Road King 3 years ago

I’m a lady rider who passed the Motorcycle Safety Course last May 2004 and had my first bike (2003 Harley Sportster) that my husband bought me. A year and a half later I sold the Sportster and now own a Purple Harley-Davidson Road King. Which I bought in Pennsylvania and drove home to New Orleans!
