When you’re with the person you really want to be, holding hands is beautiful and warming and soft and secure…
I use to have this romantic notion.
In spite of all the sweat… That’s what I feel like doing now.
Lóri is a character from the book An Apprenticeship or the Book of Delights (Uma Aprendizagem ou O Livro dos Prazeres), written by the Ukranian/Brazilian Clarice Lispector.
The reason why I want to be like her is the following: she’s a teacher who lives alone. Finally, she mets a man called Ulisses. He’s a teacher as well. They fall in love, but can’t be together because she isn’t “ready” to feel what she feels: she’s… hmm.. Stuck. She doesn’t know how to live. But, they keep seein’ each other for months and months. He teaches her different sorts of things.
I want to learn what she has learned. I want to dream about my Ulisses… and he doesn’t need to be a teacher and teach me philosophy. I’d like to share ideas, feelings, fears… Just like a little girl should. ;)
The story is psychological and really intimate… quite difficult to explain what I felt after reading the book.
