I had an eWomen’s Network lunch meeting yesterday. Since you can’t choose what you get to eat, I was resigned to passing up eating at all. Luckily it was a mixed green salad with a vinegrette dressing (maybe a little sugar in dressing), chicken and mashed potatos and green beans, and blackberry sorbet.
I ate the salad, scraped away ALL of the mashed potatos and ate the chicken and green beans and passed up on the sorbet, which wasn’t hard since I was full.
Usually the mashed potatos would be the first thing I attacked, so I am very proud of myself.

I hate how clothes sizes differ so much! One pair of 22 jeans are now so loose I can pull them off without unzipping. And then straight out of the dryer they are one size, then an hour later they are another size. My other 22 jeans fit just right (these were too tight previously). I looked through my closet, but don’t have a size 20 to compare to. I’m in Seattle tomorrow, maybe I’ll run by Macy’s and try on a pair of size 20 jeans and see how tight they are.

I fought with myself all morning- “It’s too cold to walk (27 degrees)”, “I don’t have the right clothes”, “I’ll look funny running”, etc, etc. Finally I just went as I was, jeans and all and it felt wonderful.
Following the “No Need for Speed” program I walked 5 min and ran 30 seconds four times. I was surprised at how easy the running sections went. Only during the last one was I really out of breath and that was because I’d just finished walking up a hill and was out of breath to begin with.
I really needed to write this down so that I can go back and show myself that it will feel so good afterwards to get out there and do it!
