get out of debt
it's killing me but...

It’s hard being in a serious (as in, looking for rings) relationship with someone who has good credit and knows how to save money when your credit and savings suck. So I decided I need to get out of debt. So far I have:

-consolidated school loans and requested a forebearance. As long as you keep in contact with them they’re cool.

-got my free credit report to check any errors. Also, you can write the credit bureau check to see if the info is accurate. I wrote about a few old accounts and 1 i didn’t remember and they took them off. Sweet!

-got my credit score. It’s so sad (i almost cried). but at least i know what I have to do. the Suze Orman package at myfico.com is the best deal BTW.

-set up payments w/people I owed. This part is killing me but I will have paid off 2 things by Oct so i’m kinda happy. And if you owe a dept store they usually make a deal that you can get a new card once you’ve paid off old debt so it will look like you have better credit.

Now, can anyone help me budget?

Thanks!

Start running
Any advice?

I want to start running but I am TOTALLY out of shape (more than 100 lbs overweight). I’ve started walking much more and am down about 50 lbs so far (yay!) but i still have a major way to go. Any advice from any established runners out there about how to go about this? And what is the best type of ground to run on as a beginner? BTW, i’ve talked to my doctor and he thinks this is an excellent idea so no worries in that dept.
Thanks!

Become a vegetarian
this is it...

I’m finally going to fully commit to being a vegetarian. Born and raised in the south, it’s kind of hard telling the fam that you won’t be eating meat anymore. I’ve cut out the beef and pork since Jan and not the biggest seafood lover. But the chicken is kind of hard. That’s my major hurdle. even though eating it makes me feel like crap it’s what I’m used to. So this Saturday I am doing a 2 day friut juice detox (Arden’s Garden) and starting my new food life on Monday July 16. Wish me luck. :)
