I have to learn how to do this without pushing myself so hard that I get injured…because then I end up sitting around trying to rest, and taking even more time between workouts.

Seems to me, it’s all about lotion. I should be clear—I bite my fingers near my nails, not my nails themselves. Cuticles, etc, are all fair game. So when they’re dry, I bite more. Finding a decent lotion has been most helpful; I’d gotten my hands looking really good and then I went out of town for 10 days and everything went to hell. But at least I know I can do it!
Ever since I started my new job, which I love (yes, my boss is standing behind me!), I’ve been wasting a lot less time.
