Doing better 3 years ago

By participateing in Walk America I have really been healing from the death of my baby boy. Talking to other women who have gone through similiar experiences really makes me feel like i’m not alone.

The walk is in April and I have raised 137 dollars. I really hope to raise more. The more money I raise the more babies lives I can help save….ones just like my son, Dylan.

I am helaing, but I will always love him.

Finally Doing IT! 3 years ago

For 3 years now I have “thought” about doing this but all these other thoughts would come to mind..like say “what if I cant do 5 miles” or “what if I don’t reach my goal…”

But now I am just doing it!

My name is Christina and on March 20, 2003 I gave birth to my son Dylan Thomas at 24 weeks (premature). He passed away shortly after. I did not deal withthe loss right away..in fact I thought that by pretending it never happened I would feel better. 3 years have passed and I feel worse than ever….I have now realized that talking about it is the best way to beging the greiving process.

I am now participateing in Walk America for the March of Dimes. IT is a 5 mile walk in April and I will be trying to raise money from now till then. The money goes to MArch Of Dimes which helps fund researches to prevent premature births and the death and dissability that goes along with it.

Did you know that premature birth is the leading cause of newborn death in the first month of life? It affects half a million babies a year in the United States. Those who survive may have lifelong health problems. And premature births are on the rise—up to 30% since 1981.
