My goal for having a downpayment is December 1. How much we save for the house will depend on how much we want to keep in the emergency savings, how quickly we can finally pay off the car (a year after buying it we are still making payments), and how much we want to save for the baby fund. If we aren’t pregnant yet in December we can put more money into the house.

I have decided to go without booze altogether, which surprisingly, seems like it is easier to do during the warm months than it felt during the winter.
My husband was unemployed for a little while, and I knew we wouldn’t have a baby then. But now that he is gainfully employed, losing weight is one of the few things standing in the way. He is trying to lose weight with me. We are also getting serious about saving money now that we are a two-income family. Trying to use the progress in one area as motivation to progress in the other.
