Downloaded the ISOs from sun.com, making cygwin and wget do all the heavy lifting. Burned CD1, installed on a relatively up to date computer, and the installer just worked. Very impressed, I had expected a lot of fiddling would be required for my no-brand box.
Got up to a console login. But have run out of disk space to put useful things on to make it into a useable workstation.
I really need to get started on tidying up all the paperwork that I have brought home. There’s a serious amount of the stuff, and unless I do something then I won’t be able to find anything useful.
