How I did it: This is so easy, there's no excuse not to try it. I notice these interesting looking shops when I'm driving around town, so one Saturday, I just went out and browsed in a couple of them. In thrift stores, you can't count on every item being exactly your style or your size, but I've had some really good finds that are totally unique and make me feel great. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I've mostly used Twitter to follow bloggers I already know and love. They often link good articles on other blogs, so I've learned a lot from them and met a lot of other bloggers. I’m on my way to doing this. I’m freelancing, and I’m applying for part time editing jobs. I know that’s not the same as writing, per se, but it’s in the right industry at least, and it’s good experience. If I don’t get the editing job, I will definitely ask to freelance for this publication. And even if I do get the editing job, I will ask. Why? Because I was never meant to be a secretary and because I have a masters’ degree in writing, and I’m going to use it! I just have to remind myself: I’m on my way! I’m making progress. Just gotta keep going. :)
I went to the cutest consignment store this weekend, and I got a pair of earrings, a DKNY sweater and a white oxford with gold pin stripes all for under $20. I’m really proud of these finds, and I’m definitely going back there soon.
