How I did it: i had learned to knit and purl about 3 years ago. i made some scarves, then i kind of went cold on the concept.between my boyfriend's mother, ravelry.com, and knittinghelp.com i've learned all the basic skills for actually knitting items that are useful and fun, and even learned some cabling. and i plan to continue. chosing projects that force me to learn at least one new skill.since mid december i've made 7 hats, two co… Read how I did it…
by the time i got to ersatzes elevator i was about ready for the siblings to die already. so i knew it was time for a break. not i’m ready to dig in again and continue with this goal.
so the pattern i had been using was way too complicated (4 layer shell pattern) and i could only work on it when i had nothing else around to distract me. i took what i had done of it so far and just turned it into a shawl. now i’m working on a zig-zag pattern that is much more friendly to casual crocheting.
still need to plug along more at it, though.
