there’s a moonlight paddle this saturday but it’s on the evening before an organized bike ride that i’m going on. plus, i’m planning on waking up super-early so that i can get in some duathlon training BEFORE the bike ride. it’s a bit nuts, but i’m trying to be as dedicated as i can so i can do my absolute best at the du.

my goal weight is 120. i was about 125 at the time i made this a goal, and i’m currently at 123. of course, my friend told me that ideally i should be at 115 for the duathlon on July 27. if i can get under 120, that would be splendid. obviously, i wouldn’t starve myself, but just keep working out and eat healthier (this is a sticking point for me … i LOVE to eat, and i LOVE to drink, even if i don’t do it often). but i do need to curb my urge to eat out. so, gotta keep workin’ at it.
Surf City Run, Huntington Beach … 0:29:56! LOL ... it was a flat out/back thru downtown HB. Thing was, there were SO MANY people out there (a couple of days ago, I looked at the roster of pre-registrants and we numbered nearly 900, and god knows how many registered on race day). My friend and I had to spend the first mile making up for the super-slow start, there were that many people. I could barely breathe at the end of mile 2 and had to slow down to catch my breath. My friend said there were way too many for the relatively narrow road we were on. He also said that because of all the zig-zagging we had to do to get around the walkers and slow runners, it slowed us down by … crap I forget, I wanna say at least 1.5 minutes. So I’m definitely on track for a decent time in my upcoming duathlon. But one thing I’ll be working on is my lung capacity. My future training will involve running shorter distances at faster paces. Ugh! LOL
