It took nearly the entire year, but on December 11th my husband and I began marriage counseling and we are seeing a tremendous difference already! It’s a bit sad that it took us this long, but in the end what matters is that we are already a stronger couple and have an improved marriage now.

I’ve decided to start with a large glass of water each morning when I wake. I don’t allow myself anything else to drink until I finish the glass. I’m also allowing myself one soda a day at lunch time – the rest of the time, if I’m thirsty it’s going to have to be juice, tea or WATER! I’ve also added a cup of decaf tea before bed. This is day 3.
So, I cleaned out the twins closet and started on mine yesterday – donated the good stuff and tossed the worn out stuff. It felt good to be able to see empty space in the closets.
I always do pretty good on the kids clothes, it’s my clothes and more importantly the stuff I tend to ‘collect’ – i.e., magazines, books, decorative stuff that I can’t seem to clear. Also the kids toys – it seems like they’re constantly looking for something to play with, but the house is covered in their toys…
