When I started college (at the very ripe old age of 52!), I was dead-set on becoming a physician. It was something I had wanted since I was 8 years old. I had been a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy, and an EMT and Medical Technician in civilian life, so Pre-Med seemed like the logical major for me. But during my first semester, I discovered psychology and fell in love. I changed my major before spring break and never looked back. I am now a graduate student and I am starting my internship in the fall. It hasn’t been easy, but it has been extremely rewarding. I have learned very valuable things about myself and my clients have taught me a great deal about what it means to be human. I have never regretted a minute of the experience. I have, at times, wished for more sleep, but my decision to make psychology my career is stronger than ever. I’m still in love!
