I decided that I just need to buy a new desk and relocate this one to the hobby room.
The way I see it, once a never-ending goal such as this one becomes routine, it’s time to mark as complete. I am nearly ready to do so…
I am desperate to close before December 1 so I qualify for that $8,000 tax credit and also don’t need to sign a new rental lease. Problem is, there is no way I will amass 20% down in time. So I’m just going to bite the bullet and dive in next month with an approximate down payment of 7.5% (mortgages in my area are still available with 3.5% or 5% down for first-time buyers). Wish me luck!
the last credit card will be paid down in six weeks. at that same time, i’ll make my first extra payment on the last student loan. if all goes according to plan, my entire debt burden should be gone by july, august at the latest. huzzah!

I’ve been playing weekly while giving lessons. I need to expand upon this and practice a few days each week. Wednesdays and (Tuesdays or Fridays, depending on the week) would be best. I need to track down some repertoire.
