I want to run 10 marathons by the time I’m 40. Including Ultras. So far I’ve done 3 in 5 months. If I do the next one in December 2009, that leaves me 6 marathons to do in 18 months. With my plans to run an early-April and late-May marathons, that’ll be 6 by my June birthday, leaving me 6 to do in a year. Shouldn’t be a problem if my knee holds up. -Done-

How I did it: Trained until I was ready. Tapered off in the last week. Focused on the course. Planned. Worked hard. Paced myself. Used every trick in the book to mentally keep going once the body had well and truly had enough. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Ran through the marathon in 3:08:30 and the whole thing (45km) in 3:24 something. Tough course but great day out. I was perhaps a little underdone over 30k and it showed. Gotta get a few of those 30-36km runs in training Read how I did it…

Its seems my plan is coming together. I’m booked and paid to fly into Copenhagen in March, sent off my rego for the Aalborg Brutal, and all I need to do is get my knee sorted in order to run the marathon. Hoping to do a prep marathon in Dec, and then 12 weeks of training to be ready. No worries. Except for my patella chondromalacia. Which is on the mend.
A definite possibility next year. Provisional arrangements to go to Italy in April/May so am looking at a scam to fly via Copenhagen, do the run, take one child with us and the other to follow accompanied a week later. Aalborg. Would be great to knock off a goal.
