I have used my credit cards once again, but at least this time I haven’t maxed them out. I have also added a couple of store credit cards that carry partial balances, but I plan to pay them all off in January. I’m going to close one of my store accounts that I opened specifically to buy one item, and I really should close my Wal-Mart card account, but I can’t help but have it just in case. Perhaps I should just put it into my safe deposit account for safe keeping, since it doesn’t have annual fees as long as it’s paid in full. So, hopefully I can check this goal off once and for all in about 10 days!

How I did it: I started this dumb soup diet, lasted one day, and then was sick the next day. I decided to try not to drink any more because I'd been meaning to try and wean myself off of it for health and weight reasons. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went to Drury University because it was one of the two colleges that had branch campuses in my rural area. I enrolled as a secondary ed major and left as an elementary ed major. I had great teachers, made great friends, and eventually transfered up to the main campus to finish up my degree. I never once thought about dropping out because I knew that if I did, I'd have to start paying on student loans in 6 months, haha.… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I bought a PRAXIS II study guide for test 0011 (Elementary School Curriculum and Instruction Assessment) for $40, took the practice tests that were in the back of the book and failed miserably! I was so paranoid about taking the test because of those stupid tests in the book. They were worded so strangely, the right answers were not on some of the questions because it wanted you to pick the "most correct" answer, which was rar… Read how I did it…

But I figured that’s close enough! I didn’t actually think I’d meet this goal so quickly. The way I’ve done it is by reducing my income tax withholding to $0 since I am a single mother (I usually get a pretty good refund thanks to Child Tax Credit) and I got a small-ish raise at work. I also am planning to pay off 2 credit cards and another bill (this fall) which will free up $80 monthly. Those things combined took me from not quite 14% up to nearly 29%. Yay!
At some point after creating this goal, I changed the wording from “lose XX pounds” to “be healthy and feel good about myself.” I am done with trying to live up to social/media standards and constantly feeling unhappy with my weight! Guess what!? I’m a size 14/16 and I’m not gigantic. I have been exercising to get healthy and tone up… if I lose weight, great. If not, so what. I have curves and I love them! Thank heavens I don’t look like I’ve barely escaped Auschwitz like some of the fashion models.
I want to be healthy, feel healthy, and feel confidence in my body and looks. I DO NOT want to hold myself to an airbrushed, cracker-and-water diet body image that America has plastered under the noses of women.
