I played little league as a child and was on the school team during highschool, but I stopped playing once starting college. Every now and then, at the beginning of spring, my cousin and I grab our gear and head out to a field to play catch and hit a few balls.
I hadn’t thought about it at all for the longest time, then the other night I had a dream I was back on my highschool team, and I now have the biggest hankering to find a team to play on.

I love berries: strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, gooseberries.
I love what can be made with them: muffins, pies, jams, pancakes, tarts, salads.
Few childhood memories rival the summer afternoons I spent picking strawberries out of a patch – eating more than I put in the basket to bring home – or mornings up at camp when my mother would send me out with a measuring cup to gather blueberries to put in pancakes for breakfast that morning.
I want to share this love with others.
A couple of weeks ago my students and I planted seeds for our class garden causing me to run out and buy seeds for my own garden. A couple of days of sunshine made me too eager I guess. The seven inches of wet snow that came down gave me an Upstate NY garden timeline reality check.
