So basically my secret project was to leave my 9-to-5 job and start up my business officially full-time. The company is called “iEMBARQ” (phonetically pronounced ‘eye embark’).
Well, I left my job back in mid April of this year and it’s been a slow but steady start to the new business!
You can check it out at http://www.iEMBARQ.com – The full site goes live this coming Monday, but you can see the teaser trailer now.
Our target clientele ranges from Small through Large Businesses as well as anyone using a computer at home. We are based in Florida but we have customers peppered throughout the States, so delivering projects remotely is not an issue.
Here’s a list of what my new company, iEMBARQ, offers:
.Web Design
.Web Hosting
.E-Commerce Solutions
.Search Engine Submission, Optimization, Marketing
.Social-Network Marketing
.Cost-Savings and Project Management Methodologies
.Strategic Systems Design
.Graphics and Logo Design
.and more!
We offer a “Net 10%” for any referral. Here’s an example: You refer someone and their project costs $550. Our external expense for the project is $50 leaving a Net Project Value of $500. You receive $50 (10% of $500).
In any event, thanks for taking the time to read this and if you have any questions, my information is below.
Kind Regards,
Domenic

annnnd Launch!
Well, I finally left my 9 to 5 job in Corporate-America (in mid-April of this year) to pursue my own business. It has been an incredible start and long overdue.
At first, I was an emotional cocktail of confidence, energy and determination (mixed in with a bit of fear). But as time has progressed and I stuck to my plan, this has proven to be the best business decision I have made to-date.
Through a fortunate series of events, one of my clients is Randy Moss (from the New England Patriots).
My company provides Web Design, Web Hosting, Cost Savings Initiatives and other Information Technology/Business Improvement Processes.

Started running again, but the first two times i was using my beat-up 2 year old running shoes – so now I have shin-splints. Dammit! But, with a week of rest and my brand new kicks – I should be good to go! I am really looking forward to running daily again!

smoke free!
My roommate and I decided to quit smoking together. She’s taking chantix and I am taking the Commit lozenges (I recommend the cherry flavored ones).
I’ve been smoke-free for two weeks today! The first four days were the worst, but even they weren’t all bad – thanks to Commit.
I’ve had the opportunity to smoke several times with friends out at bars, but have turned them down each time.
It’s great to not smell of smoke, plus I find that I have tons more uninterrupted time now. Not to mention, working out is a lot easier and my lungs don’t hurt anymore when exercising.
If this is one of your goals, find a crutch that works for you (like the patch, prescription drug or over-the-counter med) until you can break the habit.
Best of luck!

ok, so i converted 90% of all of my light bulbs at the house from the standard bulbs and change them to CFLs (compact fluorescent lighting).
As expected, there is a huge savings in wattage. Totaling up all of the wattage for the old bulbs, put me at the 975w mark. With the new CFLs, I’m at 226w – that’s over 431% savings in wattage.
As for the remaining 10% of the bulbs that I didn’t switch: I need to use a 15 foot ladder but I’ll get to them soon.
As a side note, these bulbs will last 5 to 7 years (and some companies claim even longer). Keep your receipts because if they don’t, you can ship them back and the company will issue brand new ones to you. The bulbs can be bought at Home Depot or Lowe’s and can be bought in packs of 4. A pack of “40w” (which are really 9w) cost $7.97 and the same for a pack of “60w” (which are really 14w). It’s funny, they actually seem brighter too.
They also make the “100w” and “75w” versions too.
I’m curious to see what will happen on my next electric bill. Since these lights produce far less heat, there should be a slight savings on ACing cost too.

Tell your friends and family about this one. It’s so easy, saves you money, and reduces a crazy amount of energy. There was some stat floating around out there that if every person just converted one of their light bulbs it would save a ridiculous amount of energy (i forget the exact amount :-) )

just signed up for the EPL plan. Instead of dropping $1,000 in one sitting, you can do payments ($25 every 3 months for a total of 40 payments).
can’t wait to get the card!

was never a cat guy until one of my now ex-girlfriends convinced me to save two little kittens about 4 years ago. I’m glad I did… Needless to say, they’re part of the fam now and I wouldn’t trade this brother and sister duo for any dog!

I submitted the paperwork and did the electronic fingerprints last week! Note: once you get your permit, be sure to stay on top of the renewal. Otherwise, you have to go through the painful application process alllll over again (speaking from experience).
My first gun was a springfield XD-9 (midsize 9mm). Great gun and packed with passive safeties (no manual safety, but, has the trigger safety, the hand grip safety, chambered notifier and cocked notifier).
Sold that one and got a little Raven .25 acp. Bought this one for when i got my carry permit the first time… it’s a point-and-shoot, fit in the palm of your hand sort of gun. Spent a whopping $75 bucks before fees and taxes at a pawnshop.
I still have that one but have upgraded to a Kahr PM9 (the smallest 9mm concealable and accurate gun I could find).
10/18/07
Also just got a Glock 19… quite possibly my favorite handgun I’ve ever shot.

got my license over a year ago. I don’t ride as much as I want to since I don’t own one yet.
I took the three day safety course organized by the msf-usa.org, which i’m convinced has since my life. Had I not been trained I probably would have done something stupid like brake in a turn. :-)
For now, I rent a different bike about every month from a local shop and get my fix in. Also, helps me to narrow down which bike I want to actually get.

I studied between the ages of 12 and 18. Although I don’t regular go to meets or tournaments any more, the fundamentals are ingrained in me and I still practice at home.
The best way to do this is either start young OR repetition and practice. Eventually your body will form a “reflex memory” and you’d be amazed at how you can instinctively respond to a situation.

i was on a trip with friends in europe and we were waiting in some ridiculously long line at a kiosk right off of the street to get a quick bite. One of my buddies was walking back and forth on the curb where the street met with the side walk kind of doing a balancing act type thing. He lost his balance and started to fall outward towards the street… normally not a big deal since a curb is only like, 6 inches high, but for some reason I instictively grabbed him by the back of the collar and yanked him back towards the side walk.
Had I not done that, he would have fallen into the path of a car that was speeding by.
