I went and got a little black kitten at the pound this weekend. His name is Jeffrey and he is so adorable. I’ll post a picture as soon as I take one.

I have to say that I was the most TV addicted person I ever knew. As a kid I would watch TV from the moment I got home until it was time for bed. I ate in front of the TV. No documentary was too boring, no music video too cheesy, no religious program too preachy. I would watch it ALL. Then I grew up and realized life actually doesn’t happen in a little box—it happens outside, so I decided to wean myself from my addiction.
The most amazing thing about watching less TV is how it reveals the putrid quality of what is on TV. I cut back on my TV watching for several months and then stopped all together a couple of months ago. A couple of days ago I hooked up my antenna because I wanted to watch the election results come in. The next day I tried to watch something, but I was suddenly able to see how bad even shows I used to like were. TV just kind of hypnotises you so you don’t realize what garbage most of it is. Staying away from it is the best thing I’ve ever done!
