I think the training will help me to lose weight. I will also need to cross train, and that should help as well. This past Saturday I did 3 miles! I’m on my way!

I have wanted to do this for a long time! So while on vacation in Kitty Hawk a few weeks ago I was inspired! I went to a kite shop, and bought an inexpensive but quality starter kite in the shape of a dragon. Brought it out onto the beach, and in less than 5 minutes it was flying high! It is uplifting, and somewhat meditative. I was only focused on being on the beach and keeping my kite up high – everything else faded into the background. Now that I have my own kite, I will definitely keep this up!
I think I need to have a definite goal instead of just saying in general that I’ll exercise more – I always seem to find an excuse not to. So – I signed up for a 1/2 marathon! 13.5 miles! And I’m not even a runner! I plan on doing the run/walk method since I’m a beginner. The run is on Thanksgiving weekend. I am hoping the training for this will help me learn some new, healthier habits.
