I did this! I have had this on my list for 2 years, and i did it like a week after i put it on my list! I was scared out of my mind, because i have the worst stage fright, but after a few drinks, i got up there and i DID IT! It felt great. I sang Marvin Gaye’s “I heard it through the grapevine.” It was wonderful to get up there and not think about things and just sing a good song. I recommend doing this!

I have fallen off the bandwagon with this! For a while I was working out at least every other day with my boyfriend. He’s my motivation because he knows that when i work out, i feel better about myself and me feeling better about me, makes him happy. I have devised a rewards system for myself to make me go to the gym more. Something like, every time i go to the gym, i get a red star on my calendar and once i’ve gotten a certain amount of red stars, i get a gold star. with each gold star i get to treat myself to something that i want/need. Something small. And then once those gold stars add up to a certain amount, i get to treat myself to something bigger. I haven’t started doing this yet, but i have a good feeling that it will work. We’ll see i guess…
4 months ago I started a job as an Administrative Assistant at an Executive Search Firm. The first month or two were pretty good and i liked it. I was told when i was hired that i would be assisting 2 recruiters… that quickly turned into assisting 3 recruiters and the president of the other company within our office. One day our receptionist gave her two week notice. That afternoon, my boss took me into her office and told her that until they find a new receptionist I would sort of be the back up. Everything has gone wrong since then. They interviewed no less than 17 people for this job (this has been confirmed by a number of staffing agencies that are trying to fill this position for my company.) After 6 weeks of daily interivews (sometimes 4 in a day) for a replacement receptionist and new Executive Assistant for the president of the company, they take me in the office and tell me that i am being relieved of my position as Admin, and am now the receptionist. Now there are perks to this job, I am a part time student, so i just sit up front and do my schoolwork when no one is around. The bad thing is, part of the job description is to order and pick up lunch for everyone in the office on a daily basis, without getting reimbursed gas/mileage. When i asked if i would get reimbursed, her response to me was “if there is coin change leftover from lunch, feel free to keep it.” Like that’s going to pay for the $3.35/gallon that gas is these days! It’s ridiculous to me to have to go pick up other peoples lunches when I’m not even ordering it. They refuse to have anything delivered because… “it takes to long!” Hopefully i’ll be leaving this ridiculous place soon.
