Was a “Kirstie” job. I struck a deal with Adam, because he’d had very little sleep and I didn’t want him driving into the office. If he worked from home, I would finish off the last of the cleaning which was basically cleaning up the mess of us painting the bedroom and move all the furniture back in. So while he worked from our kitchen table, I did the bedroom. My little sister came back and cleaned out my car for me. And I had it done before the time I said I would have it done in!
House cleaning OVER!

Consisted of buying the help of my little sister again and doing all the odds and ends jobs that we had left to do. The three of us managed to get it all done in about 3 hours and then we dropped her home.
We had dinner and a drink with my parents and then we decided to paint our bedroom. Finished that around 1am and crashed!

It was 40 degrees celcius outside today so that slowed our progress down in monumental amounts. However, we did manage to purchase 3 sets of chest of drawers for our bedroom, new curtains for our bedroom and new towels for our ensuite bathroom. So Tuesday will be all about getting the bedroom sorted! :D

Consisted of the garden mainly and a general tidy feeling. Plus, going to the shops a lot to pick up bits and pieces that we needed.

I enlisted (see: bought) the help of my littlest sister to organise my office. I can’t believe how much stuff I could fit into one demountable classroom. We pulled everything out of the office (and that wasn’t a pretty sight) and then went to Bunnings and bought 20 50L clear plastic tubs, ditched the crap and packed up everything into tubs. It looks so much better now!
Meanwhile, Adam was outside destroying our front garden, so it looks much more respectable now.
We also did the kitchen, lounge and dining areas.
Day one of an anticipated four is down!

“Lighting Their Fires: Raising Extraordinary Children in a Mixed-Up, Muddled-up, Shook-up World” – Rafe Esquith
Another gem by my favourite education author. Absolutely fabulous book. I would definitely recommend this to those working with children and parents also. A nice take on raising children and how to encourage them to be amazing :)

“Pride & Prejudice” – Jane Austen
I’ve spent the last couple of months re-reading this one in dribs and drabs and finally finished it this morning. It’s probably my favourite book in the entire world. Again, it did not disappoint. I think it gets better every time I read it!

My Husband, Uncle and Dad taught me how to play Texas Holdem. I never actually thought I would be able to get the hang of it, but they were all excellent teachers and whilst I don’t feel confident enough to go and bet real money, it was a fun way to waste a few hours last night :)

Pretty much all done! :D
I bought Adam his big present (weights for the gym that he chose) and now I just have to buy him a few little things to unwrap and we’ll be all sorted. Pretty ecstatic to be finished so early on!

I landed a permanent job for next year with a brand new school about 5 minutes from my home. I’ll be teaching Year One next year and if I perform well, then as of the end of next year I will be permanent with the Department of Education and Training :D So I’m about halfway there!

In my name change kit that I just purchased I noticed that in Australia, by law, if you get married it cancels out any previous will you may have written. So, now I’m even more determined to get this one started and get Adam to do his too!

I’ve bought a name change kit and my God was that an interesting read! I now know more than I did to start with and this is going to be much more easier than I thought. I even think I could knock this off within the next two weeks :)

I think I’m almost there with this one. The big things left are my Drivers License, Passport and WACOT.
Methinks school holidays are going to be the time to scrub this one off my list!

- 2 trailer loads of crap to the tip
- Old pot plants that I despise put on our front lawn (free to good home) – all gone within an hour of being put out there
- Karcher the patio, carport, outdoor setting, fly screens and windows
- Lawns mowed (both back and front)
We’re slowly getting there!

“Breaking Dawn” – Stephenie Meyer.
I can’t say I was overly thrilled with the ending but it was a good series that saddens me now it’s over. Now to find something else good to read – any suggestions…

“Eclipse” by Stephenie Meyer
Working my way through them! I think this is the most amount of books (that aren’t picture books) I’ve read so far in a year than I have since I started (and finished) doing my Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) degree. Too much time spent on academic reading and not enough time spent on reading for pleasure :)

Ugh, it frustrates me that I’ve made zilch progress on this. Must get to it!
