The best thing about driving a stick is that it makes you the master of your own car instead of just going along for the ride as I always feel like with an automatic. Inclimate weather, steep hills, the aforementioned dead battery…everything is alot easier to handle with a manual transmission. Kudos to all of you for keeping one of the last great aspects of American motoring alive before all cars are eventually made to drive ‘the lazy way’.

It’s also a great way to sneak in a little exercise, though its probably more fun to go as a pair rather than alone. I found all five of the boxes I looked for on Saturday.
Here’s another site with clues for local boxes, some of which do not overlap on www.letterboxing.org :
Don’t do it because someone asks you to, or harasses you to, or threatens to leave you if you don’t. Don’t even do it because some of those anti-smoking commercials are kind of scary…at least they were in the 80’s.
Do it because you’re ready to deserve how you feel when you can breathe, smell, and taste again. Do it because of how much better your skin and hair looks, and how much easier it is to climb stairs. Do it when you think of a good reason to want to stop. Do it when you really want to. I guess if there’s any trick to it, it’s just that. And make use of whatever you can to help you; Zyban, patches, hypnosis. Whatever works. 15 years…all of my adult life and part of my childhood…smoking. It’s kind of sad really.
