Well it’s been three months or a little longer since I started my quest to loose the extra baggage around my mid section and so far I am continuing to do well on my quest. I’ve lost around 65-70 lbs. with out really trying all that hard.
I mainly just cut down a lot of the junk food I use to eat (chips, cakes, etc etc) and stopped snacking in-between meals…plus I refuse to call it a diet, I just say I am watching what I eat. Sure I still have periods where I will eat things that I really shouldn’t, like a trip once in a while to McDonalds and such, but the difference is I don’t go for the large size I shoot for the medium.
Anyhow today was just one more notch on that quest belt to living healthier and loosing the pounds. My friend twittered that he was looking up some geocaches:http://www.geocaching.com, because he didn’t want to just waste the day in front of the computer, and I didn’t either. I had him come pick me up and we went off geocaching to Millers State Park in Durham CT:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miller’s_pond little did we know after finding the cache and continuing on the white blaze trail we actually did around 6 miles worth of walking. I am sore but not all that bad. So it was a great day.

Well its been around two months now since I started this determination of mine to loose weight and live just a bit healthier along with shedding off that excess baggage I call my gut.
Well things have been progressing in the right direction I’ve lost around 50 lbs so far.
My good friend Paul Monaco has been also doing a diet and living healthier quest, and as he writes in his blog, today was one of those days where eating healthy just wasn’t going to happen. But, he still has come out ahead.
I think that is the trick when it comes to diets, at least for me anyhow, is to not really be strict and totally give up the things you enjoy like pizza and such… but to just eat less of them. Basically my sucess has come from cutting the calorie intake dramatically, and some fat intake as well but not all…
As that is the thing that makes people give up on dieting the most is because when you take away the fat the food tastes like crap. Plus the other thing is I don’t call it a diet, I just call it I am watching what I eat. A little reverse psychology goes a long way.

Well this week makes it about the 4th or 5th week I been on my quest to loose enough weight where I can say … “Damn I look good.” And so far I think I am on my way.
This week even though the weather hasn’t been too cooperative for the daily walking (rainy / snowy here in CT), and even though I had a few off diet days this week, I’ve started to notice I am having a bit of difficulty keeping my pants up around my waste, even with a belt. So either I need to get jeans one size smaller or a smaller belt right?
