Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

getting in the best shape ever

wanted to share
that I am getting in the best shape ever
what got me here? I remember not so long ago
I was pathethic and eat all that junk, feeling sorry for myself.
Until I saw the kim kardashian workout and I said to myself. I she can do, I can do it too. I watched what she does, how she does it and I did it too.
Each day I said I will something in order to get in better shape.
And I did. Some days it was harder as I did not get to bed untill I did some sort of exercise. But I pushed and today I am really happy.
I did it. I am now in the best shape I ever was.
Try to find your trigger. What really moves you?
Find the pain, passion inside. What do you want to look like?
Then make it happen. If I could do it, anybody could do it.

I hate being fat because - list your reasons

I hate being fat because I can’t wear my skinny jeans anymore.
And my old clothes don’t fit me anymore.
And I hate being fat because I have a feeling people are laughing at me and I want to hide. I hate being fat because my skin is rubbing together.

Stop doing crunches

I always thought that crunches will give me flat stomach.
But I have found out that it’s not the best exercise as it can damage your spine. Stuart McGill on explains why you shouldn’t do crunches. I have tried plank and side plank and it’s a great ab workout. Finished with toe to bar ab workouts when I couldn’t lift my legs anymore. Now going to rest.

Only fools trust

After reading review of diet pill I became aware how easy you can trust and buy something that has so many side effects. Since everyone is looking for quick fix then the easiest way is to buy some diet dill.
What research have found is that 80% of people will have success if they use a guided program and not the magic pill. The program will give you a chance to change for the better.

It’s funny how we can get fooled if don’t stay true to our selves and do what we know is good.

Ant wisdom

Today I have started really small.
But I did one small step forward.
That makes me happy :-)

All I needed to do, is one small simple step.
And I did it. I went out of my way and ordered salad for lunch.
Without meat, just mix of salads.
And now I feel great.

I will go walking for an hour now and then enjoy some super duper dinner.
Life is beautiful if you allow it to be.
Now you go ahead and make it!!!

The question is not if you can lose weight.
You know you can.
The question is how you can gain power to say no and focus on your goal.

How you can do that?
By doing small steps each day.
And if you fail. Don’t worry. Just continue next day!

So how to start.
First get only healthy food in your kitchen.
Second go out and walk, run, sprint, enjoy in nature.
Third go to sleep soon enough (you need at least 8 hours)

Can you do it for one day?

A way to become True Magician

Imagine you will become a magician.
You are going to heal your body.
It will look like a temple, rock hard beautiful body.

What you have to do?
Before you decide what to eat, ask yourself is this food going to bring me closer to a healthy body. If not, I am not eating it.

What are the magic foods? The magic is inside every living food.
That’s for vegetables and fruits. Try to avoid meat if you can.

Stay away from the things that will take your magic away.
This are white things – sugar, flour, rice, pasta.
You get the idea.
And meat.

Try to go for organic version if you can.
And support local farming.

Than the magic will happen in you and around you!

But more diffucult is clever.
Learn how do your exercises in different way. Challenge your body with new moves, variations. As body gets used to doing the same exercises it conserves energy. So you must challenge your body with new and more difficult exercises.
Go for more difficult ones!!!

One week of constant exposure to activities will lead to small habit. Make it 3 weeks and you have a habit.
What do you want, a rabit or a habit?

Be more bold

Being more bold and doing things I want to do, gives me a feeling of confidence. So next week is my ‘being bold’ week.
Asking for some favours, dressing up, saying something I want to say, challenging other people. Bring it on!!!

Changing routines

Nothing else changes in my life, except that I will change my diet, bit by bit. And do some kind of activity every day.
Just as long as I am making progress. Nothing else matters!!!

Gaining confidence

Each time I say no to unhealthy foods I gain confidence.
So I am building my personal power, my confidence in me, that I can say no, I can withstand pressure.
Sports helps, going out in nature helps, listening to good music helps.

I will start with the most important and hardest thing in the morning. Then and only when I finish it, I will take time to do other things!

Hourly reminder

I have set up an hourly reminder on my computer that each hour I need to stretch when I work in office. This then gives me better posture and I am becoming more aware of my posture when I sit. I try to lift up my chest and breath deeply into my stomach. And when I sit I imagine a string pulling up my head. This really helps.

Raging bull

Imagine life is like a wild raging bull. Like I am inside arena and all this distractions pull me away from my goal.
Like chocolate – I love chocolate, but it’s not really healthy and in line with my goals. And like new pair of jeans or shoes – I love them, but I said I will save my money. And so it seems my life is left without any emotions, anything that would really drive me forward. Except for windsurfing – this charges up my batteries.
So I need to focus to have this raging bull under control and then just let go when I feel I have done enough.
This is how I view my life!

Care less about what people think of me
Crazy thing to do

Tomorrow I will dress up and put one thing that is a bit extra on.
Like a hat or even something smaller like an earing. Or some shirt I like. And I will not care what people think of me.
The more things I do like that, the more I will get used to the feeling that people will talk anyway and that I can do anything as long as I don’t hurt others.

Drinking more water

I have read that we need to drink more water. So I started to drink more. As a result I need to visit toilets more often, but the interesting thing is that my skin looks more beautiful :-) and I have more energy.
