Finding time to play is the issue, as with others on this list. I was pretty fluent on the guitar in the early nineties, and can still play pretty well after warming up and recalling things. It’s still my best instrument.

I had been out of the coding scene for a while when our company grew to the point where I was strictly managing and not coding. Now, our company is small enough again where I need to make coding a daily habit, as it was many years ago.
Difficult - requires patience

I’m using CDs in my car to accomplish this. I probably practice about 1 hour each day. I run my diction past Chinese friends to make sure I’m getting the tones and pronunciation right. I think this will take a long time before I am “fluent”.
