Did it in 2001 in Bora Bora. I was with a group that watched the sharks get fed a lot of chum, and then if you wanted you could snorkel in and amongst them. It was great!

How I did it: Made plans through REI, and the actual trip was orchestrated with Mountain Lodges of Peru. Flew to Lima and then to Cuzco to meet up with the group. The trip consisted of 7 days trekking between lodges in the Andes along the Inca Trail. Trekking days were sometimes tough, but overall not too bad for someone in very good shape. How I did it: I booked travel through REI Adventures in Seattle and used FF miles to fly to Quito. Had a day or two in Quito and then flew on TAME Airlines (the Ecuadorian airline that takes you to the islands) out to Baltra in the islands.In Baltra we met our boat crew and boarded the 66 foot power yacht we lived on for the next 10 days. How I did it: Both times I've done this I was on vacation. In Australia I saw a brochure and thought it would be fun. It was a half-hour flight that let you see Ayer's Rock and the Olgas from the air. Very memorable! In Maui I arranged it at the hotel and then drove out to the airport.
